How many physical therapy visits will I need? This is highly variable. It depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, etc. You will be re-evaluated every 60 days.
-
Is physical therapy painful? For many patients, one of the primary objectives is pain relief. This is frequently accomplished with hands-on techniques, modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, dry needling and/or heat or cold therapy. Movement often provides pain relief as well. Your physical therapist will provide you with the appropriate exercises not only for pain relief but to recover range of motion, strength, and endurance. In some cases, physical therapy techniques can be painful. For example, recovering knee range of motion after total knee replacement or shoulder range of motion after shoulder surgery may be painful. Dr. Bergman will utilize a variety of techniques to help maximize your treatment goals. It is important that you communicate the intensity, frequency and duration of pain to Dr. Bergman. Without this information, it is difficult for a physical therapist to adjust your treatment plan.

Do you accept insurance? We do not directly bill insurance on behalf of the patient on an in-network basis. Most of our patients have insurance, and those who want to utilize our services send in self-claims to their insurance company. This self-pay based clinic model allows us to devote more time and focus on our primary job, caring for you, the patient. Unlike other clinics, the care our patients receive is provided solely by our physical therapist. We believe the patient deserves a more attentive and higher quality of care. We do our best to offer a superior experience when it comes to your treatment. We accept most forms of payment including cash, check, credit, debit cards and HSA cards. Please make checks payable to MK Physical Therapy & Wellness, LLC.

Do you accept Medicare?Dr. Bergman is currently not enrolled with Medicare or any insurance providers. That being said, she does see Medicare patients. However, please know these patients must agree to sign a form stating the patient will not file with Medicare. Dr. Bergman will file with Medicare, on the patient's behalf, to get a denial only. After receiving the denial from Medicare, the patient can then file with their secondary insurance to see if they will accept the claim. After Medicare denial, Dr. Bergman will provide you with a super bill for your visit to submit to your secondary insurance.
